Whoever scheduled year-old Academy Award nominated titan of performance Debra Winger for an interview with reality TV shill Andy Cohen is probably stress-eating Halloween candy right now. Well, neither did Andy Cohen. Cohen was apparently unaware that Debra Winger did not come to play. In a sharp white suit and soft curls, Winger gave Cohen hell for every asinine question he asked.
Debra Winger gets Twitter backlash from WWHL fans
By Dailymail. Andy Cohen's late night talk show Watch What Happens Live is always a good time, until the rare occasion when it's not. The off-the-cuff show is known for party games and the celebrity guests are usually on board. However when actress Debra Winger sat down with the year-old Bravo host to play Plead the Fifth, things got awkward very quickly. The segment is a fan favorite and features Cohen posing a handful of juicy and personal questions to the guests and they have to answer all but one where they can choose to plead the fifth. Things immediately got off to a bad start as soon as the host mentioned the segment and Winger, 63, scoffed. Actress Amanda Pete was also on the show and looked uncomfortable throughout. In the first question, Andy asked the Terms of Endearment star who was the 'the biggest pig or misogynist' that she's met over her career. Game time: Plead the Fifth is a fan favorite on the show and usually elicits fun answers from willing guests. Three's a crowd: Actress Amanda Pete, who was also a guest on Tuesday looked uncomfortable during the exchange.
While the segment tends to ignite some chatter because of the personal questions the stars can choose to answer, this time, people got talking for a different reason. Simply, it was so, so awkward. For some quick background, the game involves a few questions that the guest can either answer truthfully or "plead the fifth," but they can only plead the fifth one time. Winger responded indirectly with, "He's already under indictment, so You wrote about this in your book," Cohen began. However, Winger corrected the question. I didn't write about her. She wrote about me," the actress declared. I mean, c'mon.
She had sunglasses on. She wouldn't answer any of my questions," Andy said of the star's appearance. Someone in the audience suggested Debra Winger's October appearance during the For Your Consideration event, and Andy couldn't disagree. Andy said he didn't expect Winger's appearance to go that way at all. We really did connect, and during the commercial break, she kept saying, 'You know, you're like my Jewish little brother. I feel connected to you,'" he shared. Andy recalled a particularly tense moment with the Oscar-nominated actress during a round of Plead the Fifth, which you can check out, above. I mean, that's a fair question," he said. Yeah, I would!
